Relief Fund for Covid-19 will be distributed with transparency, PM said as he launched web portal
Prime Minister Imran Khan has made sure the donations in PM’s Relief Fund for Covid-19 are going to be distributed among the deserving families with transparency.
PM Imran Khan was speaking in Islamabad today during the launching of an internet Portal to register and supply help to those that lost their jobs during the lockdown.
The Premier said that he’s personally monitoring the relief fund regulations. Its details are going to be revealed after the audit.
Imran Khan has also explained that the govt will donate 4 rupees for every rupee donated to the relief fund. He also said that the target is to approach the utmost number o people during these testing times.
Details of the web portal program
The premier also said that those that have lost their jobs due to lockdown measures can register themselves on ehsaaslabour.nadra.gov.pk to avail a stipend worth PKR 12, 000. During the briefing, he directed the volunteers and Tiger Force to assist people during the registration process. He further explained that the registrations are going to be analyzed and therefore the amount are going to be given to the qualified people. He assured that the help is going to be provided entirely on merit basis without political interference.
Furthermore, Imran Khan also said that Rs. 81 billion are distributed to six .8 million deserving people under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme.
He also said that an excellent amount has been distributed during a short time.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishter was also present at the event. She said that Pakistan is that the first developing country, and it’s given immediate relief to the people suffering from coronavirus pandemic.
She also said that the second phase of the program will help the labor class, who have lost their jobs thanks to the lockdown.
Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar was also present during the briefing. He said that the govt has taken measures to supply relief to small businesses suffering from the pandemic.
